HOUSTON (Press Release)— Dray Tate of the legendary Williams Brothers Group has had an amazing year. The talented musical artist married the love of his life, radio personality Rebekah “Bishop Bekah” Tate, in late April during an intimate ceremony with family and close friends. The two met after Tate listened to Bishop Bekah on the Yolanda Adams Morning Show, where Bishop Bekah was a co-host. Within a year, they were engaged and planning their dream wedding. Dray had given up on love prior to finding Bishop Bekah, but when they met, he instantly felt the love which inspired his new single, “My Angel.” The song was released on their wedding night in honor of their love.
“I was inspired to write this song as Rebekah gave me hope during a time where I was no longer interested in dating. Having her in my life has brought new meaning and I pray it is a testament that encourages others to continue their pursuit of love,” Tate said.
The video features Dray and his wife as they highlight their journey. The video officially came out on June 25, 2021 at noon CST via Youtube.
In addition to releasing a new video, Dray Tate is scheduled to tour this summer with the Williams Brothers Group as well as solo to promote his new project. The Williams Brothers Group will be a featured performer on the Tom Joyner “Fantastic Voyage” Cruise in mid-November. You may have also seen Dray as one of the singers at George Floyd’s funeral service in June 2020.

About Dray Tate
Dray’s musical journey did not begin with the Williams Brothers. He was born in Houston, Texas where he developed his musical tastes and interests and it was not long after picking up a guitar that he was experimenting with the traditional and quartet gospel sounds of Joe Ligon and The Mighty Clouds of Joy and The Williams Brothers, all of which have had a profound influence on the direction his musical journey has taken.
After realizing that making music was his main goal, he began to showcase his talent in various venues across Houston and abroad, playing at numerous gigs and making sure that his name and music were being heard by as many people as possible. He was quickly noted for the unique style that he brought to the gospel industry and his popularity began to grow.
Although his name was continuing to grow in Houston, it was not here that he was destined to become a star. Instead, Dray had developed an affinity with The Wonderful Harmonizers of Huntsville, Texas in 1994, which recorded with the Worldwide Gospel Records. Having traveled frequently, he left to go play guitar for the Bolton Brothers for the next five years. Soon after, he began playing lead guitar for The Williams Brothers in 1999. He played lead guitar for a one year and then was released by the group.
